Toy Stroller, Handiversary, Mothers Day!

Dear Kacie & Kalvin,

Have I mentioned how much you love yogurt Kacie? No? Oh, I have? Well you certainly do love it! I think I ned to start buying greek yogurt so I don't feel terribly bad about letting you eat it so often.

You went through a phase where you wanted to push your stroller everywhere. One day we were getting ready to visit dad at work and you brought your stroller to the door and so we took it with us.

It was so cute! you walked your baby doll, Paris (that's the name that came with the doll), around the parking lot with daddy.

Not only does bringing you kids to visit make your dads day go a little faster but it keep him on good terms with his boss!

And I like it because you often fall asleep within seconds of getting back in the car!

But you've also started singing in the car. It's really impressive. Like one day I heard you making sounds but it took me a few times (of listening to the same 3 songs over and over) to realize that you were mimicking the words! I was so excited to show dad your new trick so of course you didn't do it the next time we were in the car!

When your grandparents were here, Kacie got to go outside a lot! Which meant that you got lots of owies! Your knees were scraped and you bonked your head and stubbed your toe and bit your lip! And you loved every second of it!

You also bumped your nose pretty bad.

Last year, your dad and I did The Whole30. We felt SO good and energized and we both lost (and kept off) a lot of weight. We loved it so much that we decided to do it again every May. And since I just had a baby, I knew I would need to do something to lose that baby weight!

So we started eating eggs and fruit for breakfast and you loved it!

So did Kalvin… except he was getting it secondhand so he pretty much always loves what he is eating.

You love helping us put on our shoes Kacie. Most of the time, you actually do grab the right ones! But occasionally you're just like "Put on your dang shoes and lets go!" So you aren't always completely accurate in your choices.

One night dad helped you put Kalvin in your toy stroller. it was hilarious because he just sat there like he loved it and you pushed him all around the house!

*sigh* "Sisters"

So one of the recipes we decided to try out for our Whole30 was using sweet potatoes as buns for our burgers. Well, we mis-judged the sizing on both parts. The sweet potato slices shrunk in the oven and Costco burgers are HUGE if you don't cut them in half before cooking!

Despite the bad proportions, they actually tasted very good!

Kalvin, you don't talk as much as your sister did - she was always saying (or crying) something! But occasionally you will smile and coo and it's just my favorite!

Every time I look at you Kacie, you just look more and more like a toddler. I keep remembering things about you as a baby as we watch Kalvin do them too.

Kalvin has been lifting his head up on his own since day one so dad decided to try out the bumbo one night. If he had any say in it you'd already be walking Kalvin. You actually did pretty good for about 17 seconds and then your little head started drooping down the side.

If you remember last year in May you will remember the accident your Grandma Sandra was in (although by the time you are reading this I imagine you will already know all about it!). Anyway, May 9th was her Handiversary! So she made these adorable cookies - yes with her TWO hands - and took them to the doctor that saved her hand!

This years weather has been crazy! We had like 2 snow days all winter and then it was warm in February. And now that it is May it has been raining a lot. It stinks cause I can't take you outside much because it's so wet. But you love to climb up onto the back of the couch and watch whats going on out there.

We finally were able to get together with my girl cousins one night. I wanted to make something delicious and so I made a fruit pizza!

It was seriously one of the most scrumptious things I have ever made.

And now I am obsessed with making them!

As I've mentioned, your father and I were called to nursery. We both LOVE this calling and it's awesome to watch you interact with the other kids. One Sunday this little group of you kids laid down in a circle and talked to each other!

It was so cute and I was so glad that I was there to catch the moment. You are very social and sometimes a little rough in nursery but your dad and I like seeing your personality develop.

I have now celebrated two Mother's Day's with children and it only gets better each time!

Your dad helped you guys pick out some present for me! Of course I only took pictures of the wrapping…

Kalvin got me a cool deck of cards. They are Luchadores "The Brawl On The Mall"

Your dad and I have a slight obsession with cards! We have red ones, yellow ones, Southwest, Hannah Montana, Princess, Clear, Civil War, Scooby Doo, Christmas Tree Shape, Basketball, Despicable Me and plans to buy MANY more awesome cards!

Anyway.

The other present was an attachment for my Kitchen Aid Mixer and while I LOVED it, it was the wrong side and I ended up returning it and buying some fruit shaped cookie cutters.

And then you kiddos helped daddy make me a card - which I adore!

We are so blessed to have you guys in our lives. Everything you do just makes our lives better and much more exciting!

We love you!!!

Love,

Mommy and Daddy
