Baby Toes, 'Due Date,' and Ice Cream Cones!

Dear Kalvin,

You are so precious! I am in love with you, my boy!

This is the morning of your 2 week visit. It's like you are saying "ummm, no thanks mom. I don't want to go."

Early morning snuggles! My friend put up this quote and I love it! It makes those early mornings a bit easier:

"The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow, for children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow. So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep. I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep"

Bunny ears!

Kacie you're always so active! you just run around being crazy all the time!

But occasionally you will stop and slow down for a few minutes to be with your brother. You really do love him!

I took soooo many pictures of Kacie just laying around and I don't have the chance to take as many of you Kalvin but I do love you just as much as I love Kacie!

Sometimes I get pictures of Kacie and I compare the two of you:

Here's more proof of how crazy you are Kacie and how chill you are Kalvin. Kacie always tried to step on your head when we are changing your diaper. we will put her in time out and then make her give you a hug and say she's sorry. I think she sometimes does it on purpose, just so we will make her hug and kiss you. She just loves doing that!

Tiny baby feet and toes!!

When you were almost two weeks old, on April 17th, I took these pictures:

(it's easy to hide the baby weight when you squish it into your pre-pregnancy pants)

This was supposed to be your due date!! I was sooo glad that you weren't inside me anymore!

We went to the store one night and got ourselves some ice cream. It was Kacie's first time having her own ice cream cone and it was hilarious to watch you eat it…or try to eat it!

We like to get all up in your face Kalvin, because that is when you most react to us.

Uncle Colin with his niece and nephew. Its so fun to see my siblings with you kids! Now if one of them would just have some kids then I could be an aunt!

My birthday present finally arrived in the mail:

It is one of my favorite presents ever! I love it so much!!

Kalvin, you don't really care about your pacifier. You will use it when you are really hungry but other than that you don't take it. It's so different than your sister who ALWAYS wanted her pacifier!

I had forgotten how much hair your sister had from the beginning. You still have about the same amount you had when you were born. It is so soft! I just pet your head all the time.

Dad loves to read you stories! And Kacie, you love to try and get Kalvin to pay attention to the books. Someday he will, dear, just not today.

We love this cute squishy face!

And I love how babies will just fall asleep anywhere! This picture was actually taken by the talented Kacie, who is in the process of learning about photography.

We love you so much Kalvin and we are sorry that your sister tries to beat you up so often. She just wants a friend to play with!

Thanks for being so sweet to your brother Kacie! You are nice to him more than you are mean, so I think things will only get better from here… right?

Love,
Mom and Dad
