30 Weeks!

Dear Kalvin,

I did really good with your sisters weekly pregnancy updates.

Man, am I behind on yours!

I'm not even sure how many weeks I am here… I'm going to have to go back and count…

Ok, so 25 weeks here:

I remember at 25 weeks I was very relieved! There are a few cases where babies younger than 25 weeks have been born and survived but 25 weeks is when most doctors consider the risks of saving a baby worth it.

I think this is when my 'nesting' started to kick in. I am feeling more unprepared this time because I'm trying to figure out where we are going to keep all of Kacie's old things and put your new things!

I went ahead and put away aaaalll of the headbands, since you won't be wearing those. It was a little sad! I loved putting those on Kacie and getting her all dressed up. But also, I remember sometimes thinking "Man, getting these pictures would be easier if I didn't have to keep that headband straight" Or "Kyle, you can't just take off her headband because it's easier. Beauty is pain!" But secretly wishing we could just forget about adorable headbands.

So in a way, it'll be nice not to have to deal with hair accessories!

I shoulda bought it. I didn't, but I regret it a little now. It's just adorable!!

27 weeks here:

28 Weeks

At your appointment this week, we were told that you are measuring a little bigger than average. She said that we wouldn't worry about it until we were closer to the due date and that boys are usually bigger than girls and so are second babies… so that was fun news.

We talked to her about induction. I know a lot of people are against being induced, and thats fine. But you are in my body and I will be making the decisions for us! I'm not saying that I will be induced early. With your sister I started having contractions but wasn't dilating anymore so I was induced.

I think that my body needs a little bit of help getting you kids out so I think at some point I will be induced wether it's planned or happens like Kacie's. It was good to talk to the doctor and know that they are willing to do whatever I feel is right for us.

I was telling your dad I was worried about moving away and being pregnant with another doctor. I've really enjoyed our doctors and they really care about your health too which makes me calm.

29 Weeks

This week I was just anxious to get to the next week. Your dad is so busy with school and work that it's hard for us to stop and focus on the fact that you will be here so soon.

You're very active and sometimes I think you're having spaz attacks. I often ask dad to come home from work, just to put his hand on my belly because you seem to calm down at his touch. He talks to you sometimes, well more like gives you little commands on how to be nice to your mother. It's adorable and he calls you 'bud' or 'buddy' and it just makes me so excited for him to have a 'mini me.'

He taught Kacie how to throw a baseball and she likes to throw balls (or anything really). I am afraid she will start getting into more girly things like dolls and dresses soon though.

It's a good thing you're coming when you are. Dad will be waiting at my legs with his baseball mit to catch you when you are born and get started on teaching you all about baseball right away. And you will arrive just at the start of baseball season so don't expect to be wearing anything but red for the first 9 months of your life!

Go Cardinals!

30 Weeks

10 WEEKS LEFT!!!!

I can not tell you how happy I was to hit this milestone. Your sister was born exactly on her due date so  if you plan on coming on the date assigned by the doctors, we have 70 days left. That really isn't much time when you consider that I can't do much on my own and daddy is really busy during the week. That only leaves us with 9 weekends left.

And if you really are bigger than average, we might just get induced a little early leaving us with 8 weekends left!

And if you get crazy and come sometimes during daddy's spring break (April 6-11) like April 8th (your original due date and Grandma Sandra's Birthday) than that still gives us 8 weekends but I'm ok with you coming on your real due date, April 8th.

But if you really need to, and Heavenly Father says it's ok, you can come on April 2nd, my birthday, because that would only leave us with 7 weekends.

7 weekends of bladder smooshing, rib punching, penguin waddling weekends until we could hold you in our arms and kiss your teeny tiny little face!

And THAT would be the best birthday present ever!

Because Kalvin, you move a lot. And mommy is tired… of peeing.

But seriously, I'm tired.

We LOOOOOVE you soooooooo much buddy and I promise I will try to do better at updating about your little life inside of me!

Love,

Mom, Dad and Kacie
