Dear Children,
The day before Christmas is Christmas Eve. The day before Christmas Eve is Christmas Adam. Because you know, Adam came before Eve.
Anyway, both dad and I's families had a tradition to sleep under/around the Christmas tree on Christmas Adam. But at this point in our lives, we are too young to do that… and by 'we' I mean you and Kalvin!
Sometimes we don't put much effort into getting ready for the day. It's just better that way!
Other times I put more effort in to it for you, Kacie! But seriously, if all my clothes were as comfy as yours, I would get 'dressed up' as well!
You're really starting to develop into a smart toddler these days. You like to put things into other things… for example, these little popcorn bowls. You carry them around stacking, unstacking and restacking them!
You like sandwiches but you eat them by taking them apart and making them the messiest meal ever… as long as you eat though I guess it's all good!
One night we went to Walmart to get a few last minute ingredients and items for our Christmas Eve dinner. We were in the fridge section and found this dollar!
It says Merry Christmas and someone had left it sitting out. How cute huh? So we let you have it and wave it around!
My family has the tradition of reading the Grinch on Christmas Eve. Since you're still not great at sitting still, we split up our traditions over several nights so Christmas Adam, dad read us the Grinch!
Christmas Eve wasn't too eventful. You wore your "Mommy and Daddy's favorite present shirt"
And adorable pigtails for our visit to daddy's work!
We hung out upstairs for a little bit to help pass the time and you loved being pushed around in these chairs. At one point, you started pushing me around in the chair! I decided that I would be getting a wheelchair for the remainder of this pregnancy for you to push me around in… I thought Santa was bringing it but sometimes Santa knows what gifts we really need.
Pregnancy makes me have to pee… a lot… so we spend a lot of time together in the bathroom. Sometimes you find odd ways to entertain yourself. Like trying to open the box of hot chocolate.
When dad got home from work (at noon) we opened our Christmas PJ's because I wanted to be more comfortable!
Then we started Christmas Eve dinner. And daddy made a scrumptious Cheese ball to snack on while we waited.
You love cheese balls!
Here is our fancy Christmas Eve dinner: Ham, Rolls, Martinelli's and Funeral Potatoes. We were a little sad that we didn't have more people to celebrate with but it was also really nice to celebrate our little family! Dad and I are extremely grateful for our growing family and it's nice to stop and remember that.
But don't worry, we didn't stay alone all night…
We went and visited Uncle Colin at work! We read him The Night Before Christmas (our other Christmas Eve tradition) and The Grinch too!
Dad had a Barbie doll from his works White Elephant gift exchange. You had a lot of fun putting on and taking off the sunglasses.
Then, right after you threw up all over dad, we took our family Christmas PJ picture and headed on our way!
We drove by this CRAZY huge house that had a LOT of lights! You weren't as amazed as dad and I but it was fun to go!
Here is the tree all presented up and ready for Christmas morning!
We had a really awesome Christmas Eve and are really looking forward to next year when you get even more excited about things! Plus, Kalvin you will be here and will be 8 months old!
WOW!!
Thats crazy!
We have thoroughly enjoyed this year with you both, well, mostly Kacie because although your little kicks are fun to look at and feel, Kalvin, your making me exhausted and nauseous is pretty lame!
We love you both!!!
Love,
Daddy and Mommy
