Dear Kacie,
You always look so beautiful at church!
We love all of the dresses you got for Christmas!
This Sunday was quite the adventure! Church is now at 9:00am so you're a little happier.
Dad was holding you and you reached up, covered his eyes said 'whered go?' and then took your hands off and said 'boo! there is!' Dad and I laughed a little too loud for sacrament meeting… but you're so cute!
And then we were singing the hymn and you opened your own book and sat there singing through the whole thing! It was adorable and hilarious and funny and awesome!
Sometimes we have to watch TV. At that point in time, we were watching a lot of TV because mommy was having a hard time being pregnant. So we had this memory foam out all the time for me to lay on. But you also loved to lay on it and you got your pillow and then made me cover you with a blanket. Then you contently laid there!
I try to make us eggs for breakfast as much as I can cause it gives me a little extra energy for the day and plus you like them and these days, you don't always eat what we give you… like bananas, you used to be really good at eating those but now, you just don't!
I have so many pictures of you reading your books. You sit in this little corner and read to yourself and I LOVE it!
Back in December we were rear ended. It wasn't bad and it was totally the other cars fault but because I am pregnant, I woke up with a sore back. So I started attending physical therapy. They just had me lay on heat and do some stretches. I went a couple times a week and it was really nice to get out of the house, even if it was just for an hour. I love you Kacie, but sometimes I need mommy time and I am not always able to get that. It was good to take a little time and focus on me!
See, here you are again, reading!
You really enjoy playing with your potato heads. You created this one and I happened to catch you looking like you were scared of it!
"Mom, please. You're all up in my business."
You still do not drink milk well. I don't know why but you just have never like it. So I got some chocolate milk thinking you would have to like it, and you did!!
And then you threw everything up. And not just a little. It's like, "Here mom, I know you're queasy all the time and just the smell of this will make you sick but have fun cleaning it up because there are still 6 hours until dad comes home!
luckily you love baths. So I just plopped you in the tub and let you clean yourself off!
I am really excited for you to get a little bit older. You always want to help out in the kitchen but you don't understand when you are helping and when you're just in the way. So I try my best to let you help when I can. It's adorable because it just makes you so happy to be like me and dad.
I love to say "Smile for dad!" and see what faces you make:
Another thing you like to do in the kitchen is help with dishes. Remember how you figured out that you can drag the chairs around? Well you dragged it to the sink and started cleaning the bowl and fork in the sink.
Grandma Sandra made you the book "Creating Kacie" and one day you reached up onto the shelf, and then carried it over all your books (a hard feat for such a little one, climbing so many books with a giant book in your hands) and brought it to me. Then you let me read the whole thing! You don't normally sit still for long books but you loved looking at all the pictures in this one, because they are of you and me and dad, and we are all awesome!
Ok Kacie, it's about to get real up in here.
I pee all the time.
So we spend a lot more time in the bathroom than either of us would like to.
And that means that you are constantly having to find ways to entertain yourself. Wether it's getting a box of hot chocolate off the table, bringing it to the bathroom and trying to open it or finding toys from around the house and bringing them to the bathtub. Your favorite thing is opening the drawers and pulling everything out of them and throwing them on the floor for me to bend down and pick up later (or leave for dad to pick up because I can't bend). This one day you brought some books with you and sat on the floor to read. I just love what you do to entertain yourself.
We were watching TV and you came and sat right in between my legs. I sent this picture to dad and said "Our kids"
hahahaha, I thought it was pretty funny!
Here we are again, watching TV… but this time you were watching on my iPad in your recliner. you had me put the pillow on your lap to support the iPad and then ate your snacks while kicking' back in your chair.
luckily, Uncle Colin came to visit and saved us from watching even more TV. You love having him visit!
This has been a really rough week for me. I lose my patience with you really easily and we are constantly bored. It's hard being pregnant and keeping up with an energetic 18 month old. I sometimes count down the minutes until dad will be coming home to help me out and I rarely make good dinners anymore.
I love writing to you on this blog because it reminds me of how much joy you bring into our lives, even though parenting can be hard. You really are such a blessing to your dad and I and we love to be with you! I hope you can forgive us for not always being the nicest people and just remember that we really do love you A LOT!!!!!!
You're the reason dad does so well in school and at work. He wants to give you the best life he can!
We love you so much sweetheart!!
Love,
Dad and Mom
