Braids, Minnie Mouse & Jellies!

Dear Kacie,

You are getting so big! You say so many words and its helpful for me and dad because they actually mean something and you know what they mean!

You say:

Napk (napkin)
Pupcake (the dog on strawberry shortcake)
Book (you love to read)
Yo ho (pirate show)
Raw war (water)
Papa (grandma and grandpa)
Yuck (when I change her diaper)

And you know a lot of animal sounds now!
Horse, duck, bear, lion, frog, monkey, owl, dog, bird, cat…

And also you're starting to count with me! I will just count 1 to 10 and you know 1, 2, 6, 8 & 9. But that is only when I count with you. Otherwise you just say 1, 2, 1, 2, 1...

One day, I decided to french braid your hair because you were distracted so I thought I could do it… and I did!

They were only half french braids and as you can see, the part was a little crazy but seriously, I am amazing cause they turned out exceptionally!

You still love dad a lot!

You two just play and goof around together. It's so fun to see!

Sometimes we go to Hobby Lobby to wander around and look at house decorations and stuff. Every time we go, you will run up and down the ramps! It's funny cause they aren't really steep or anything but I guess for your little body they are so it's an adventure to run on them!

We celebrated Pi day! Well, your dad and I did… we might have waited for you to go to bed to eat the pie…

It was delicious! I made a peanut butter pie! It had lots of delicious chocolate and peanut buttery pudding.

The next day at church, you finally got to wear your gorgeous spring time dress from Grandma Sandra.

You even have started carrying around your little purse so it made the outfit even more adorable!

You like to put your fake chap stick, a travel size lotion bottle, and a little book in the purse. It's cute that those things keep you so entertained.

And once again, I got adventurous with your hair!

You look kind of silly in this picture but I had to capture the moment. After we ate breakfast that day you had me put on your socks and shoes. Then I had pulled out your backpack and some jewelry. You sat in this same position for about 45 minutes taking the necklace out of the backpack, putting it into your purse, then taking it out of your purse and putting it into the red bowl/toy. Then you would take it out of the red toy and move it to your backpack… and so on. It was just funny because you literally didn't move your bottom from that spot. You might have shifted your legs a little but you were glued there!

We are very lucky because you love your crib so much. You usually sleep about an hour and a half but then I usually don't even get you out for another 30 minutes or so! And even then, when I go in to get you out you don't always want to come right away.

One day I went in and you looked up at me and said "where'd go?" I asked you where did what go and then you reached down your shirt and pulled out a pacifier! I took this picture and then picked you up and another pacifier fell out of your shirt!

You've started getting into carrying your Minnie Mouse around. Not all the time but more and more you will bring Minnie Mouse out of your crib with you and then carry it around sporadically throughout the day. One day you even brought her with us! She road with you in your carseat most of the time but occasionally you'd pass her to the front and she'd ride with me and man the shifter.

It's been cold enough that I haven't really let you go without clothes for long (even though I do!) But it was a bit warmer this week as we officially welcomed spring and this particular day you spilled water all over your shirt. So while it dried, I let you run around in your diaper and you loved it! You read books and played with your toys and danced!

And then for nap time I put your clothes back on. You decided that you needed both Minnie's to take a nap right by you!

Unfortunately this winter was not ever really cold enough for you to wear your cute hat and gloves. Fortunately you just like to wear them anyway!

We bought you these cute jelly sandals so that we wouldn't have to put socks on every time we leave now that it is warmer. The first time we put them on you flipped out! You did not like wearing shoes without socks. Dad would stand you up and you would throw yourself back on the ground crying. So, we put your socks on and you were fine… as you can see below!

Your hat is stored in your sock basket so one day we were going to visit daddy and you found your hat. You didn't want to leave without it so we visited dad with it on.

You of course, are adorable, even though snow hats with socks and sandals and short sleeves would look ridiculous on me or dad!

Everyone at dads office loves it when you come to visit. You help to brighten their day just a little bit!

Last week I was in charge of making the center pieces for our relief society activity. I LOVE to craft so even though this was a bigger project, I had so much fun making them. Our theme was family history so I made these picture frames into trees!

At first, they really looked like frames with medusa hair… so I had to add the leaves and then when we got the grass and rocks out with them, they looked sooo good! And the little beads all had words on them like 'family' 'history' 'love' 'past' and other clever descriptive words that fit on them.

Anyway, your Aunt Ang helped me think of the idea and we were both happy with how they ended up. But it got me thinking about what you're going to be like when you get older. I love to craft and sew and decorate. It's something I wish I could do all the time!

But your dad is so active and loves sports. And so far, you are very much active like he is! I just can't wait to see what you grow up interested in. I'll be ok if you play sports and don't craft, but I sure hope one of my kids will get my artistic talents! It would be fun to have a craft buddy!

But no matter what you do, your dad and I will love you no matter what!

Love,

Mom and Dad
