Sister Adventures

Dear Kacie,

You had a great time with your Auntie Aub! She was soooooo great at helping me with you. I really enjoyed having her here watching you while I (occasionally) got things done.

She was so good at buckling you in your carseat every time we got in/out of the car. She would carry you and get you dressed and feed you. It was fun that you got to spend so much time with her!

One day we went to the mall just to walk around. We of course went to the Disney store. 

Every time we take you there, you go straight to Minnie Mouse and you pull all of them off the shelf!

This time, you climbed up to get even closer to them!

Your dad got a tiny little cake for his birthday that he let Aunt Aub and I eat some of one night. We cut these really skinny, tall pieces that wouldn't stand on their own.

It was really fun!

We still love to go visit daddy at work and have a little picnic in the grass.

This particular day Aunt Aub suggested that we put your pigtails really low (well, as low as they can go with your 'hair cut')

It was so cute. I think it's time to do your hair in pigtails again! It's always a crowd favorite!

Party #5 Happy Birthday Old Man!

Dear Kacie,

Party #5 wasn't actually for your birthday… it was for your dads!

(side note: my dad called me Thursday morning and said "How would it be if your sister showed up on your door step and stayed for a while?" Obviously I said 'amazing!' So your Aunt Aub had been with us since Thursday night and I managed to go the whole weekend without taking a picture of her and you for your birthday!)

Anyway, this is her painting at some point...

And this is you 'hanging' out with her. Haha, get it? =)

Dad got to take off work early and they gave him cookies and cake!

Then we went to dinner at The Smoking Apple, his favorite restaurant.

We also went swimming because that is his favorite thing to do! and he got a crepe pan! It's so fancy and works really well!

Someday you are going to look at me and your dad and think "Man, they are so smart. They know everything!" And then you will turn 26 and then you will say "Wow, I don't know anything"

And that's kind of how we feel some times. But, we are learning new things every day and you're still alive and healthy so I'd say your dad is nailing this 'getting old' thing!

You really love your dad a lot so it was a great birthday present for him to hold you aaaallllll day long!

Growing Up and Party #4

Dear Kacie,

You had your year appointment and they always give us these cards that say "Look how much I've grown" and for the past 6 months, I don't actually think you've grown… Ok, you did a little, but you're still tiny.

You loved having Aunt Aub at your appointment!

She read to you and chased you around

And even let you get into the cupboard once!

This is your little doll that you got!

And this is the ADORABLE outfit grandma Sandra sent you!

That night we went to my Aunt Jenifers house for party #4!

She made her delicious 5 minute cake and got you some presents!

You got three awesome books! She even knew to get you board books so you can't tear out the pages!

The best book is called "Hippos Go Berserk" and its awesome!

Party #3

Dear Kacie,

Birthday weekend continues with dinner at my Aunt Susans house.

They were so sweet to decorate!

We had spaghetti, which is a new favorite of yours.

Then we cleaned you up and opened presents!

You got new clothes, new snacks, new toys and a new bib!

Dad and I got you a stroller and my family got you a baby doll! (I really need to get a picture of you with her)

You got these toys from your friend at your second birthday party. You already know how to spell your name apparently!

I don't remember what this picture was… I think you just kept making this face all day and it was funny!

Swimming, Friends and Party #2

Dear Kacie,

dad's birthday is just a few days after yours so on Saturday he wanted to go swimming as part of his party. So we went to the Provo Rec Center (our new favorite place).

Birthday peeps!

The good thing about swimming is it makes you tired!

After swimming we had a bunch of friends over. We had hamburgers and played games and let all you kiddos run wild!

Then we sang to you both and had cake!

You made the best face the whole time we were singing to you!

"What the heck is happening right now!?"

You didn't really touch the cake (as expected). But if I put some in your mouth you loved it!

We opened a present. Your boyfriend gave you some bath toys! They are letters that stick on the wall and you really like them! Even though you don't know what they are, you still stick them on the wall and move them around.

You of course had some birthday kisses from your betrothed.

It was such a fun party spending time with our friends!

And you loved every second of it!

Party #1

Dear Kacie,

You have a big fan club!

So we had to have 4 parties for you.

But don't worry, you got your birthday nap in before it all started.

Friday night we invited Uncle Colin and Trevor over for dinner and cake. Aunt Aub was staying with us too. I of course forgot to get a picture of you with them.

We had sloppy Joe's for dinner.

And then we opened a bunch of presents!

Aside from your carseat, this was the one I was most excited about!

I remember having food that I could cut up when I was younger and when I saw this I just knew I had to get it!

We Skyped with your grandparents a little.

And then just hung out and played with your toys!

After a rough day, you just had to kick back and chat on the phone.
