18 Months of Life!

Dear Kacie,

I can't believe how old you are!

One night you curled up under a blanket on the couch all by yourself! It's nice to know that if you're cold, you can fix it yourself.

You still love to climb on the table, but fortunately you stay on the chairs most of the time.

You've started to make your 'cheese face' when I take out my phone for a picture. I can't get enough of it!

Grandma and Grandpa Jarvis sent us a package full of presents! You were really excited to help me open the box.

With the presents, there were some new clothes that you were excited about. You held them and carried them around for about 10 minutes just happy as could be!

So the next day you got to wear your new outfit. It is really soft and I think you like how you look in it.

Sometimes your 'cheese face' turns into something that looks like this:

But most of the time its just the cutest most precious thing!

Daddy got to come to your doctor appointment. He hasn't been able to come in a looong time! While we were waiting for the doctor, you just went and laid on the ground. Kind of hilarious!

At dinner, you just kept cuddling up to dad. I didn't manage to get a picture, but you rested your head on his shoulder and then took a bite, then gave him a hug, then took a bite. It was cute!

I had been snacking on some Wheat Thins during nap time and left the box on the bed. That night we reading scriptures and you found the box. You opened it, got cozy by dad and had yourself a bedtime snack! I thought you looked so cute so I pulled up my phone to take a picture and you looked at me and said 'cheese!' It was adorable, as is everything you do!

You say lots of words now including, but not limited to,

ho, ho, ho
cheese
awesome
shoe
sock
sausage
Kyle
no
please
grandpa
bye
see you
Colin
book
baby
(we're working on Ang)

You're saying new things every day!
You love to copy whatever dad and I are doing.
You still love baths, and now you like taking showers with me.
You cry when dad leaves and when he comes home. He makes you really emotional.
You always want daddy to be holding or near you.
You make dad really happy when he gets home from work though, because he knows you missed him.
You have 9 teeth with another molar coming in.
You call your dad 'Kyle' all the time and he doesn't really like it.
He loves playing catch with you, except when you throw the baseball in between his legs…!
You do really well in the car, even after you experienced your first (being rear ended) car accident.
You love Skype and know how to hang up the call when you're done talking to those weirdos.
You are terrible in Sacrament meeting because you just want to socialize with the other kids.
You love to turn on the lights to the Christmas tree.
You don't understand that we're having another baby but you like it when we make you kiss my belly.
You still take your pacifier, but mostly when you're sleeping or hungry.
You love to read your books. We often find you in your room sitting on a pile of them.
You are still tiny:
21.6 pounds 33%
30 inches 6%
18.11 inches 43%
You make us laugh all the time, even when you're mad.

We bought you a doughnut to celebrate and you absolutely loved it! (green poop?)

But not as much as we love you!

Happy 18 months of life!!!

Love,
dad and mom

Oreo.

Dear Kacie,

The grasshoppers at JCW are sooooooooo good!

And so obviously we got one.

Our mistake was giving you the Oreo from the top of it...

And despite what this picture shows, you were in heaven!

Which is what the following pictures will show...

We love you, even if you're a toothless smile monster!!

Love,

Baseball and Baby Stuff!

Dear Kalvin,

Here you are 22 weeks old now!

To celebrate we went to our ward Christmas breakfast and got free Kneaders French Toast. Needless to say, you approved! Because who doesn't love Kneaders French Toast?

There was an ugly sweater contest and your father won!!

His sweater gives warm snow man hugs!

So sometimes I get really tired from trying to keep up with your sister. She has a lot of spunk and energy that I don't have.

I went in to her room one day after her nap and found her like this. She was totally out, and covered in her blanket.

Most days, this is how I fell inside, crashed and exhausted. Unfortunately, you are also full of energy and spunk so you dance on my bladder and keep me awake.

Here you are at 23 weeks of age!

Your dad and I were laying in bed one night and I had this sudden realization… I keep thinking that once the new year comes, I still have 4 months of pregnancy. But it hit me, that you're due in the middle of April (hopefully sooner) and although April is the 4th month, it will not be a full month!!

Seriously.

Pregnancy brain is so real for me. How am I 5 months pregnant, and just now realizing that it won't be 4 full months!? But it was so great. I can't even tell you how excited I am to have a newborn again.

Between all the sleepless nights, being thrown up on, long hard days, and all the gross stuff you don't want to know about, your dad and I absolutely LOVED having a baby around. Children bring so much joy to your father. He loves to teach you silly things, listen to your giggles and for you, dream of throwing a baseball with you!

And it's great for me because it also helps him release energy! Win, win, win! We all win!

The day we found out that you are a boy, we went to Target to find an outfit for you… We were trying to find a onsie that had little baseballs all over it, unfortunately we didn't find one.

So we went to Hobby Lobby instead and bought a giant baseball wall decoration. Your dad is so excited to infuse all things baseball into your life!

Then, a few nights later we went to my cousins house and she gave us your first gift and guess what it was? A onsie with little baseballs all over it!!!! Your father is soooo excited!

And here is one of your dads favorite Calvin and Hobbes comics:

We love you kiddo!

Crazy Hair, Mom's Socks and Booster Seat!

Dear Kacie,

Your hair is getting so long!

Dad is trying to convince you to leave the house with this hair-do… You're not convinced… It's a little dangerous!

We went to the store one day and you had a little melt down on our way out… It was hilarious because you laid down in the cart crying!

You still love Minnie Mouse!

The mall is fun because you enjoy the many stores.

We went in to Bath and Body Works to smell candles. It was cute cause you wanted to smell them to. So every time dad smelled a candle, you would lean forward and 'sniff. Sometimes it wasn't a sniff, sometimes you were blowing out. But you enjoyed it!

We were getting you ready for church one day and you picked up my socks off the floor. Dad put them on and you left them.

They were like boots…

You have also recently discovered my chap stick.

You love putting it on yourself and then putting it on me too!

This outfit just made me so happy because your sparkly red shoes (that got all over the bench) just made the outfit perfect and Christmasy!

You really have a hard time sitting still in Sacrament meeting. So dad often ends up wandering around and since it still hasn't snowed, you go outside sometimes. You love to explore!

And then after church as we were changing our clothes, you hid in dads closet!

One day we were watching TV and you leaned against the ottoman like so, lifted up your shirt and played with your belly button while intensely staring at the TV. You literally didn't move for about 5 minutes!

Then one night I gave you a bath. Sometimes I let you play in the water until it drains out. You used to get bored with the bath when there is no water… but this time, you just kept on playing for about 5 minutes with no water. And even then I took you out because I was bored! It is adorable how much you love the bath!

A few months ago, my cousin gave us their old Mr. Potato Heads. So we were lucky enough to get 5 free potato heads!

Being pregnant means that I am constantly peeing so you are constantly following me into the bathroom… And having to find ways to entertain yourself.

Like playing hide and seek behind my bath towel...

You play in your room really well and this one day you were in there for about 10 minutes. When you came out to find me, you got up on my lap and for about 3 minutes I didn't even notice that you had a beard stuck on your back!

You recently decided that you like to wear your hood. So you just do things like eat with your hood on!

While you were eating breakfast one morning, I had to type something up real quick so I just stepped around the corner while you ate your bagel. A few minutes later I heard you climbing on the table. I peered around the corner to see you sitting happily, eating some left over pizza from the night before!

And lastly, we finally bought you a booster seat! You've been climbing and standing on the chairs, wanting to be like dad and mom, for too long! I finally found an inexpensive seat that you enjoy!

You used to walk around, climb from chair to chair and occasionally fall off the chair. But now, you just sit there and eat! Or fingerprint with sour cream on the table… either way, it's much better than before!

We love you!

Dad and Mom
