Happy Birthday Kacie!!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KACIE!!!!!

You're getting so big and old and smart and fun!

We love to play those games where we bounce you on our knees with some clever poem and then tip you over but you just want to skip ahead to the part where we tip you backwards. It's sooo cute!

You don't wave as much as you did when you learned but sometimes you randomly wave while we are feeding you and you almost always wave if we say 'Bye.' We love to get you to wave to us or to people walking by.

You really like to feed yourself. You only have your bottom two teeth still so we feed you pureed foods  mostly but I made muffins last week and you love them! It made me really happy because you usually don't like breads.

You aren't really attached to your pacifier but you will take it if we give it to you. It's kind of nice because I think it will be easy to wean you off of it when that time comes. We have actually forgotten twice this week when we went out and you ended up being alright.

You love playing with other kids. It doesn't matter how old they are, you just like people that are smaller than adults. And you somehow can tell when they are! You giggle and squeal when you see them.

You love to swim and its adorable. You even kick your legs!

You have started to copy sounds and actions that we make/do. That's really fun and, of course, cute. You started clapping a couple weeks ago and then started giving high fives. That's dad's favorite thing that you do.

Speaking of dad, you are completely attached to him. If he is in the room, you want him, you follow him, you cry for him, you are attached to him and it's adorable!

June 19th 2013. Your due date and before I started having contractions.

This was before the epidural, probably.

This was after the epidural!

We are so blessed to have you in our lives. You make every day a joy, even when we are running low on patience!

You're the perfect baby and we are excited, as always, to see where life takes you!

We love you so much baby girl!

Love,
Dad & Mom

First Father's Day

Dear Daddy,

Kacie here.

You pretty much rock.

I love chilling with you.

It's so fun to be chased around the house, scared when you jump at me from around the corner and thrown around sporadically and unexpectedly.

You make me laugh, and cry.

But mostly laugh!

I hate being away from you, but if I am away from you, it's fun to Skype with you and show you around from the iPad view.

I love having you feed me. Mom fed me so much the first 10 months of my life, it's nice to get a break from her. Plus, you make funny faces and sounds so it's entertaining.

Church is always an adventure too. It's funny to make you follow me around the hallways. But I know it makes mom happy to have a little break from me. She loves me but I get bored with her sometimes.

You are always really good at making me happy, even if it's just cause I can make you do whatever I want you to do. Like if I can tell you don't want to pick me up, I know how to make you do it anyway.

And bath time is always really fun. It's awesome that we get to play together every night in the water. Well, I'm in the water and you're just covered in water that I splash on you. Either way it's fun.

Thanks for going to work and school. I don't really know why you have to do that right now cause I miss you, but mommy tells me all the time that it's a good thing and that even though we both go a little crazy for 10 hours a day, someday we will appreciate it even more.

I love you so much dad! Thanks for loving me as much as you do!

Love,
Kacie

Super Star Husband!

4 years ago, June 11th, Kyle and I were married! I can hardly believe it has been 4 years but at the same time, I feel like 4 years is nothing.

In some regards I think of 4 years as a REALLY long time. Like when I think of my 4 years of high school, I feel like that was a lot of time. But when I think of a 4 year old child, it's like, that's not even that long to be alive.

Anyway, I painted my nails our wedding colors to celebrate.

I posted the following picture with the following caption on Instagram:

"Sometimes you celebrate 4 years of marriage forgetting it's your anniversary, meeting with your boss, eating yogurt and granola, watching Baby Einstein's with your 1 year old, while your husband goes to school and work so that when you've been married for 25 years, you can go to Hawaii!"

We were supposed to go to California and spend a day at the beach but we ended up having to pay for some of Kyle's summer classes so we got to stay in Utah.

But we chose to do classes so we can get this stage of life over with sooner… Let's hope that maybe next year we can do something a little more exciting. (and by exciting I mean we will be spending all of our money on moving)

We really didn't get to do anything on our anniversary but Kyle got me these beautiful flowers and they are still alive and beautiful a week later!

I was watching a show the other day and this couple was arguing because the guy didn't want to go to the girls house. He tells her that he never stays the night at her house because she makes him feel like just a visitor there and she didn't even clear out a drawer for his stuff.

Marriage is a beautiful thing.

It takes strength to commit to someone. And not in a 'I cleared out a drawer for you' kind of way.

In a way that says "I am committed to you forever and I don't need years to decide that. I commit to you in everything. I am not only clearing out a whole drawer for you, but I am going to buy you your own dresser, let you have the walk in closet, and you can wear my clothes when yours aren't enough." kind of way.

Kyle,

I can't thank you enough for ALWAYS letting me stay the night. I'm glad that you're enough of a man to want to combine our rent payment and not make us pay two of them. I'm glad that you are selfless enough to allow me into every part of your life, and not just the convenient parts.

I am so honored that you chose me!

You make me laugh everyday and you make sure life stays exciting, even if we're just sitting at home.

You're the best father and husband. I say those two things together because even though you are busy with full time work and school, you still make sure that Kacie and I are happy.

I am so grateful for the people we are becoming because of each other. You make me want to be better at life and better at accomplishing my goals.

Thanks for taking me to Kneaders, it was delicious!

And for letting me have a disco ball at our reception.

Smile!

Dear Kacie,

You are too cute.

You've started to do this weird thing in your high chair.

You refuse to sit straight forward and you turn yourself all the way around so you are facing the back of your high chair.

And then you get really mad.

If you remember from previous posts, you like to run away when you are out of diapers. You think it is super fun!

This next picture was taken right after you ran away and right before you peed on the floor…

It really is fun letting you eat 'grown up food' One night we had corn and dad jokingly handed you his corn. But you got excited and then proceeded to new on the end of it!

We went and visited dad at work one day and took PB&J's

You loved your sandwich!

We took your Uncle Colin to Costco and had fun with him!

You love to stand at the door and squeal at everyone as they walk by.

Love,
Dad & Mom
