244 Days

Dear Kacie,

You are 8 months old today!

8 MONTHS!!!!!!!

How did that happen?

You are just getting so big and of course, adorable!

You are walking around the edge of things, not much but just a little!

You are still terrified of the vacuum! Every time we pull it out we have to hold you because even the sight of it makes you antsy!

You are also terrified of the laundry room. I think it's just because it makes funny sounds and the door automatically shuts so you can't see us!

For president's day weekend we got to spend some extra time with dad! We took you to see the giant dinosaur at the mall.

Then we went to Macey's and got DELICIOUS ice cream cones. Daddy was a little naughty and fed some to you.

You were not very happy with him when he wasn't feeding it to you. You would kick your legs and bounce and squeal at him.

It was the best!

Church is right before nap time. You were so tired!

We took some cute cookies to our marriage and family class. They are husband and wife cookies!

There was a lot of sleeping this weekend between you and your father!

It is so fun to watch him take care of you. He loves being your daddy!

But, after the naps were over, dad had to get some stuff done. So you and I went to the store to hang out for a couple hours. You refuse to sit straight so I just gave up and let you sit backwards!

Oh, and I also let you chew on the shopping cart… gross? Absolutely, but I wasn't going to fight you in public. Plus, it didn't last long.

The next picture is not for the weak. Kacie vomited aaallllll over the other day.

And of course, right after I put your cute outfit on!

You LOOOVE baths! We were in the kitchen and daddy turned on the water in the bathroom. As soon as you heard it you perked up, looked towards the bathroom and started crawling over there!

You are standing on your own for about 15 seconds at a time (at the longest) but then you get scared and make yourself fall! It's crazy because I have friends with babies that didn't start CRAWLING until 10 months and you started at 6 months!

We love this age you are at. It is so fun to see your little personality coming out!

Daddy especially loves it because you respond to him and play with him!

He is finding that he will still be able to share the things that he loves with you, even though you're definitely going to go through a barbie and princess phase that daddy won't fully understand.

WE LOVE YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!

Love,
Dad and Mom

Jealous Momma!

Dearest Kacie,

This post is going to be totally out of order. I need to figure out a better way for downloading pictures. Usually I reorganize them but today I am packing and am short on time!

You are getting sooo big! Well, maybe not that big physically. But your little personality is just shining through! It is still the most wonderful thing to watch you learn each day!

To prove you aren't an abnormally big baby, I have included the picture below. It is of Gus. He is two whole months younger than you but you guys both weigh 16 pounds!

I love to see you with daddy. He loves you a lot! Sometimes I get jealous because he cuddles with you all the time. I mean, he still cuddles with me, unless you're around.

The good news is that I'm actually ok with it. Sometimes the three of us cuddle.

And that's pretty awesome.

You've outgrown your play-mat. You roll around so much that you don't actually stay on it and always end up playing with the manufactures tags instead of the toys! Once you are sitting better I think we will pull it out again and let you play the piano.

Umm, your hair.

That's all I really have to say about it because these pictures do better at explaining the awesomeness that is your luscious locks.

I put this giant bow on your head for fun one day. You have such a small head that big bows just look ridiculous to me!

Warm PJ's!

You helped me set up the Christmas tree.

You were a little confused by it but had fun testing out the prickly branches.

SAAANTTAAA!!!! I KNOW HIM!!!!!

I hear a lot that we look alike. And since you are the most beautiful thing I've ever seen, I take peoples compliments of you very seriously.

So, you're welcome Kacie for giving you some dang good looks!
I guess dad helped a little...

You sat in the highchair at In-N-Out. It was wonderful for dad and mom!

You sat up in your car seat one morning.

The easy days of leaving you anywhere without worrying are over!!

We put you in your jumper and you taught yourself to bounce over to the lamp!

So obviously instead of taking it away I tied a ribbon to it and moved it closer. Safe right?

Sitting up on your own!

Call me a terrible mother (i'm not) but when I know why you are crying and I'm in a good mood, your little crying face is the cutest. Everything just seems so dramatic and it's adorable!

I forgot to take a better picture of you on Thanksgiving. You kind of spit up on your cute skirt before I got a picture of it.

But this one is still cute

You love toes!!

In fact, as I type this, you are trying to eat my foot!

Is there anything more peaceful than a sleeping baby?

I think not!

You're obsessed with yourself! You get sooo smiley and loud when you look at yourself in the mirror.

Can we all just take a second and thank the person that invented ruffles? I mean seriously guys, they are the cutest.

You are seriously so in love with your dad. When he comes home at night you smile and giggle for him. The two of you play and play and laugh and laugh. I play with you too but something about your father makes you extra happy. Unless you are sad, then of course you need a mommy hug!

Grandma Tracey gave you this horse. You can't completely hold yourself up on it but it is fun to put you on it.

The best part of the 5th month was when you started doing planks! I was so excited and giddy and I just kept trying to get you to do more. It is ADORABLE!

Dad is jealous of your strength. I keep telling him to get to the gym, and at the rate you're going, you will be stronger than him in no time.

And that's saying a lot cause he's pretty strong...

In church right in the middle of the Christmas program in Sacrament Meeting, you learned to blow bubbles. It was hilarious. And we are now one of 'those' families with the loud baby. I suppose this is just the beginning of our endless hallway wanderings.

It's our new favorite thing to watch you do. You purse your lips and spit every where!

I put you on the floor and leave you there to let you roll around and explore. Your favorite toy is the vent. And I like to watch you play on it because (it's not hot) and it blows your hair up in funny ways!

Your Christmas dress

I was trying to make dinner and you would not let me put you down so I strapped you on my belly! You are looking at me like "Mom, what is wrong with you?"

If you want good pictures of your babe, go to Costco. They seriously have some great lighting in that place.

(side note: If you want your wedding ring to sparkle, go to the food court at Costco and pretend you are just getting a bite to eat. Then proceed to gawk at your beautiful ring.)

I think you were pooping...

Dad likes to put you in funny places. We pushed you around Wal-Mart like this and you loved it and got a lot of compliments on how cute you are! No denying that here.

At Target one night we tried on some shoes. These were so ugly and yet super stylish. You totally pull them off.

And you surprised mommy for your 6th month check up! A giant poop-nado right as we arrived at the doctors office.

Well played, Kacie. Well played.

I'm pretty sure that all I do is get spit up on and change explosive diapers. But I love every second of being your mom. You continue to amaze us every day.

We love you!

Love,
Mom and Dad
