Kanine Krunchies

Dear Kacie,

We love you!!!

You have gotten sooo big and 'grown up' this month.

You've started eating solids and you love them! I love them too because it means less time spent nursing and sitting in a chair.

We also got you these 'lil crunches that daddy says remind him of the commercial from 101 Dalmatians. (hopefully you'll have seen that by now)
"Kanine Krunchies can't be beat, they make each meal a special treat!
Happy dogs are those who eat nutritious Kanine Krunchies!"

One day I set you down in the living room and walked into the kitchen. When I came back you were gone! I found you getting into trouble behind the couch!

So obviously I took pictures instead of stopping you =)

"What mom?"

You've started exploring the floor at church. It's kind of fun to have one of 'those kids'

Just blowing bubbles and spitting everywhere while mommy does some crafting.

I posted this picture and said "I'll bet she pulls herself up by Valentines day!"

I love to stare at you while you sleep! You are terrible at taking naps unless you are in my arms. I don't know what it is but every time I lay you in your crib, you wake right up!

Someday I will figure it out and get some things accomplished, but for now I'm going to cuddle you!

I was eating carrots one day so I gave you one. You loved to just chew on it. Of course, you didn't get anything off of it, but it kept you busy and entertained!

I swear you have a sixth sense for finding cords!

We bought you a little cup and you enjoy drinking water from it!

Your favorite toy in your room (besides hangers of course) is the door stop that keeps the door open. One day we will have a house that doesn't need one of those, but you will be old enough to know not to chew on the little piece of wood, holding the door open. You often get stuck in the hallway, because you don't know how to get back in!

Remember when I said you were going to be standing up by Valentines day?
Well I was right! I was just off by a full month early.
You were so proud of yourself!

One day you were crawling around and then just stopped and laid down for a few minutes. It didn't last long and then you were all over the place again. But it probably does get exhausting learning to pull yourself up on everything!

Getting into things… luckily, it's just your toy bucket!

You stand up on the edge of your laundry basket. One day it was not very full and you kind of fell into it! You just laid there kicking your leg up and down. Not crying, just confused as to what had happened!

You are soooo adorable when you sit in shopping carts!

You sneaked away from me and found the frames! When I said "What are you doing?" you looked at me and laughed. So glad I caught this on camera. I love that face!

You are always on the move!
One minute you're standing by my chair, then getting into the frames, then leaning on the table and lamp...

Then you discover the cords
And have to take a taste.

Then you come back to my chair for a quick 'hello'

Only to scurry off and chew on a camera charger!

Seriously, those eyes.

You got your first bandaid! Mom may have irresponsibly left a glass from a frame too close to the edge.
(Don't judge me, I was keeping an eye on you!)

Anyway, you got a tiny cut and then played with your bandaid!
Also, you ended up just sucking on your pinky on the bandaid.
It was cute… also gross.

For MLK day we got a coupon to IHOP.
But what they didn't tell us was that they actually sent it for you 7-month birthday!
You are such a big girl!

I absolutely love being your mommy. I am pretty sad that you have grown up so fast. I miss having a teeny little immobile baby!
But I also absolutely LOVE having a little buddy and seeing your personality come through is a thrill!
I guess that's why we will just have to give you siblings!

Dad has so much fun with you! You still get so excited when he comes home.
We sometimes laugh and play, but the way dad gets you to laugh and mess around is something only a dad can do!
Your dad loves me a lot, but I know that you are the biggest reason he gets up and goes to work and school every day. He really wants to give you everything and make life wonderful for you!

Your hair is crazier than ever! I can't wait for it to continue to get longer so I can braid it and put cute hair stuff in it!
But for now, we love the little wild side that your hair gives you!

Daddy and I will always have other things in life that we love, like crafting and water polo, but our children will always be our very favorite, and most important hobbies.

We really hope that you will always know how much we care about you, even if you sometimes think we aren't being fair.

We love your sweet spirit and precious personality that you have brought into our life.

HAPPY SEVEN MONTHS!!

Love,
Mom and Dad

6th Month Adventures!

Dear Kacie,

Wow. Where do I even start!? Your sixth month of life was so incredibly amazing and your father and I are honestly shocked at how fast this past month went by!

I'll pick up where I left off and start with our Christmas trip to Arizona.

We were tight on space so I opened a couple presents before we left, with your help of course!

Grandma Tracey sent you this precious little book.

Aunt Kassidi sent this amazing piece of work!

We actually drove down to California first and stayed there Saturday. This is you and your great Uncle Scott twirling your mustaches.

Meeting Santa! You didn't even cry!

'Helping' us pack up our stuff

Driving to AZ!

You took a nap with your ponytail in and you were so cute when I went to check on you and you looked like a little Who from Whoville!

Goal in life: Someday I will own a 12 foot Christmas tree like your grandparents.

6 Month pictures under the tree!

You did not like getting your picture taken in this ADORABLE dress!

We all gathered around you to watch you open your first Christmas PJ's!

You did a great job!

Uncle Greg, Jerm and Colin
Your Santa Jammies!

We all went in to wake up grandma and grandpa. I think this is the first year they were actually a little happy to be woken up!

Checking out your stocking

Checking out Daddy's stocking

Surrounded by presents

Opening mommy's favorite present you got from grandma and grandpa Jarvis, A Bedtime Bug book!! It's fantastic. I can't wait for you to appreciate it like I do!

Testing out a few Christmas gifts

Cardinals!!

Christmas night we made and decorated Gingerbread cookies! Aunt Aubree and I made each gingerbread man have a personality. Dad is on the left, he is swimming and the red, white and green gummies are his muscles. You are in the middle and I am on the right. I am dancing!

Cuddling with Grandma

Umm, I'm not sure how I don't have pictures of you crawling! I guess I was too busy taking a video of it! Or maybe it's just the fact that I was thoroughly enjoying watching you crawl for the first time!

It's a great story!

Aunt Angela was holding you and Aunt Aubree and I were in the room talking. I was holding a yoyo and said "OH! put her down and lets see if she will crawl!" And then you started crawling to the yoyo! I was like "AAH! She's not supposed to actually crawl! Pick her up! We have to get Kyle!"

And you've been crawling ever since, never looking back!

Helping us pack again

You always grip the sides of your carseat like daddy and I are terrible drivers. We are not, you just need to feel secure!

We had to get creative to let you play with your new toys!

As much as you occasionally like your new toys, you usually crawl right past them to get things that are not toys, like this hanger.

We had a great time in Arizona and celebrating your first Christmas. We are so excited to continue celebrating Christmases with you!

And we brought in the new year with a disco ball!

We love you so much!

Love,
Mom and Dad
