Dad and Mom

Mom and dad update!

Well, your dad started school again a few weeks ago. He's basically gone from 7:00am to 7:00pm Monday - Friday. So that leaves me pretty tired by the end of the day!

He's taking two math classes and a social work class. Unfortunately this semester is just getting classes out of the way, so they aren't very exciting...

First day of school!
Dad's old computer broke a few months ago. So he did a lot of research on computers, tablets and laptops. In the end, he decided that he wanted an iPad!

So he ordered it from online and it came with a free engraving! You don't ever see the engraving because the case covers it, but this is what I put for him because he didn't really care about it:

Oh, and he loves me so much, he let me add an iPad mini to that purchase...

Also a few weeks ago I had another MRI done on my ankle. My hemangioma has been causing my foot to hurt and back when I first found out what it was, they told me it wasn't dangerous but if it ever started to grow or feel different to have it looked at again.

So after 13 years since I discovered the bump and 8 years after my last MRI, I am finally having it checked out again...

The absolute worst part of being in the hospital after you were born was the IV that they put in my hand. It was right on top and started to annoy after a while. So when they had to put an IV in for my MRI, I was not excited! Luckily I only had to have it in for about an hour.

They were supposed to call me with results today (3 weeks later!!!) but alas, still no call!

I really thought I would hear from them today since I called three times already... I just need to know whats going on with my foot! It's kind of annoying to limp around every time I stand up!

This is a quote that I read in a magazine while waiting for my turn on the MRI machine...

Since your dad started school that day I didn't really have someone to watch you. Luckily my BFF Jenessa was free! So you got to go hang out with her for a couple hours.

One of her room mates had a cat and so you got to make a new friend! Jenessa sent me this picture. I absolutely love it! It's just so cute! (even though I'm super allergic to cats and therefore do not always enjoy having them around...)

I love, love, LOVE to stare at you while you sleep! you are so precious!

Crawling on daddy

Raising your hand!

One of my favorite looks that you make, your rounded mouth!

matching headbands!

Giraffe toy!

dramatically sleeping!

It has been tough adjusting to having a baby. We have a few empty units and they need to be painted and cleaned. I try to get over to work on them during the day but if you are not eating, you spit up all over and if you're not spitting up, you are taking a nap! So I am excited for you to get a little older so that I can actually be a help to your daddy!

Managing apartments is the worst job on the planet.

We are so very blessed to have gotten this opportunity and we thank our Father in Heaven every day. But if we are being completely (or even just a little bit) honest, it's the worst!

I will literally throw a massive party the day we are able to move from this job. By massive, I don't necessarily mean a lot of people. I mostly mean I will by ice cream and Oreos, turn on my disco ball, dim the lights and dance for 8 hours or probably more.

I'll turn the music up really loud (because it won't matter if people know I am home) and I will open all the windows so everyone can hear (because I won't care if anyone sees me).

Anyway, we are very grateful for our boss and would definitely not still be managing if he was not our boss. He has a heart of gold and is so SO kind to us.

I am sitting here, trying to think of other things about your dad and I but our lives revolve so much around you! We love that fact though.

You definitely make our lives a lot more meaningful and exciting!

Cutest Babe Eva'!

Dear Kacie,

You are 11 weeks old today! (well, yesterday... I forgot to post this!)

We absolutely love you!

*PICTURE OVERLOAD*
It is really easy to get pictures of you because you like to look at the back of my phone case. I even tested it out. When the case is on my phone you follow it around. If I take the case off the phone, you ignore it. So advice: Buy a contrasting phone case and your baby will always look at the camera!

I went to Costco the other day and I got so many compliments on you. I suppose it was you getting compliments but I'll take the credit until you understand!

I was carrying you in my wrap and you were 'perched' on my chest. One lady did say 'he is so cute!' In her defense, you were wearing a baseball binky and she probably couldn't see the pink... But honestly, you don't look like a boy at all to me!

Your hair is so long and curly. After we wash it, it poofs out and you look like a hot mess! Daddy always gives you a 'fro after you are washed but the sides usually flatten down after a few minutes. Your hair is longer than dad's and just about as thick (or should I say thin?)

Last Sunday we all wore coordinating outfits! The week before that we wore matching dresses that I made us! It is so fun to do that!

Workin' it!

Unfortunately, yours somehow ended up being smaller than I thought it would be so I will have to try again and make it a little bit bigger!

Our bedroom has really bad lighting!

You are gorgeous already. I love your big beautiful eyes! Speaking of your eyes, they are blue! sometimes they have a hint of gray, but mostly they are deep blue like mine.

You are doing pretty well sleeping. Sometimes it takes you a while to fall asleep (like 11 or 12) but when you do, you will sleep for average of 7 hours.

You've been sleeping in your crib for about a month now. It is pretty awesome and I absolutely love your crib! You look extra small in it though. I remember all those months ago that we set up your crib and feeling like it was FOREVER away!

You have a small laugh now. You mostly just smile really big and cutely! But your laugh is beginning to develop.

Grandma Tracey sent this bib!

Spitting up makes you feel very happy!

One of my favorite pictures of you

You also love your tongue! If daddy or I stick our tongues out at you it makes you smile and then you stick yours out. Also, if anything touches your mouth, hungry or not, you just lick it over and over. I suppose you are just testing it out because I imagine it is weird to one day notice something in your mouth but attached to you!

I dont know what the average age is for rolling over on your own but you are so close! You can roll to your side on your own and if you didn't have arms to get in the way you would definitely be able to get to your tummy. But I'm glad you do have arms because I am not entirely ready for you to be moving around on your own. We still haven't 'baby proofed' the house.

Daddy tries to get you to crawl all the time. It is for sure not real crawling but when you are on your stomach you kick the ground with your feet and push yourself forward a little. Mommy know it's not crawling but don't tell dad. It will make him sad.

You are more talkative than ever! When your dad and I were dating and engaged, we spent a lot of time on the phone. I learned then that if you want him to say something you have to make him say it! It's not that he doesn't like to talk he just doesn't unless you ask him questions.

"What does this have to do with me?" you ask.

Well I talk a lot and you are already talking a lot so I am getting the feeling that your father is never going to get a word in between the two of us talking all the time! It will be very interesting to see what happens!

Although, he does love to lay and 'talk' to you!

You still love your pacifiers!

Your Aunt Melissa (I suppose that's what you call her... I don't really know!) Anyway, she made you that bracelet and it is soooooo adorable when you wear it! You are so fun to dress up. You're like a little doll, only you eat a lot and make daddy and I veeeerry tired!

You love to 'watch' TV. If I have it on, you will arch your back and look at it. The picture above you are watching TV and holding your pacifier in all by yourself. Such a helpful little girl!

You love to play with your hands! It always looks like you are scheming something!

(Ignore the full diaper)

Sucking on your pacifier helps you fall asleep.

You love to hear us sing. You smile and kind of sing along with. We recently started singing "I'm so glad when daddy comes home..." to you. I mostly do it for like 10 minutes before dad gets home because although I love you to pieces, it is exhausting taking care of you all on my own. So I sing the song mostly because I am so glad your dad is coming home! But it makes you smile too.

I said to Aunt Angela the other day "I have to go feed my daughter" and let me just tell you it was the weirdest thing I have ever said!

I have a daughter??

How did that happen?

Oh. I remember now! ;)

Well my dear, keep growing and being the perfect baby.

We love you so much and are so blessed to have you in our lives!

Love,
Mommy and Daddy
